Facts of Life (with Bailey) ;)

Fact #1: (TMI WARNING) Before I became a Mom, I didn't realize that I'd get so excited over seeing poop.
Bailey has problems going potty. We've been giving her prunes lately and I think they're finally kicking in and she's getting some "relief."

Fact #2: I love love love waking up in the morning. I love walking into my daughter's room and seeing her huge gummy smile. Getting out of bed and walking to her room I'm usually dreading the day because of how early she is up.. But once I open the door and see her smile and face, I don't care what time it is.

Fact #3: Bailey's nap time is IMPORTANT. I get some "me-time", get to catch up on what I have recorded on the DVR, and get to clean something.

Fact #4: There is nothing better than seeing Daddy & Baby together. Don't take this for granted. (For my civilian friends) Can you imagine having your husband gone for the birth of your child? No? How about the first seven months of his or her life? I didn't think so. Unfortunately for Derek, he had to miss all of that. Yeah, it was a big deal. He missed some first holidays, the first time she smiled and a bunch of things in between. I know we've done some adjusting since he's been home and we have had some up and down moments but at the end of the day there is nothing and I mean NOTHING better than seeing my husband kiss our daughter goodnight.

Fact #5: Say goodbye to watching whatever you want on TV... whenever you want to watch it. There is this show on Nick Jr called "Jack's Big Music Show" and it only had two seasons (a total of 26 episodes) which happens to be Bailey's favorite TV show. Guess what we watch daily? JBMS. And since there are only 26 episodes, Derek and I are constantly watching the same ones over and over again. It's annoying but since Bailey loves it, guess what? We're watching it.

Fact #6: Bailey loves cuddling with something soft at night / nap times / when we're traveling. She has a bunny (and an elephant) security blanket AND Scentsy Buddies Lenny (the lamb) and Penny (the pig). We seriously take either the bunny or Lenny with us EVERYWHERE. We will not be caught without one or the other. And every night before bed, her bunny has to be with her, or she won't sleep. (See picture below.)

See? She has all four of her "security" items with her here.

Fact #7: Every new milestone is both exciting and heartbreaking to me. This morning (22 June 2011), Bailey fed herself cheese puffs. I was cheering her on and pretty sad. She's getting to be so "independent" (or as independent as a baby can be.)  My baby is turning 9 months old this weekend.

Fact #8: Something I really love? Little toesies....... Need I say more??? :)

Fact #9: Even the biggest livingroom.... will suddenly get a lot smaller with baby toys. I'm SO glad we have a different house than when I was pregnant. Our living room was tiny in our previous house. In the new one, it's not huge but it's big enough for two couches, a TV, end tables, a Pack N Play, a high chair AND a jumper. At the end of the night when we clean up before bed... our living room feels so big when we've put everything away.

Fact #10 (& the last one for now): Bailey brought Derek and I so much closer together. Every night before we crawl into bed for the night, we walk into Bailey's room to cover her up and check on her... and sometimes we stand there for a minute just looking at her. I love feeling his arms wrapped around me while we look down at our Sleeping Beauty.

This is all for now.

XOXO
